Every shift produces paperwork, and the officers who look sharpest to supervisors and clients are the ones whose paperwork is clean, complete and on time. This free pack gives you the three forms you use most, ready to print or fill in on your computer.

What’s inside
1. Daily Activity Report (DAR)
The record of your whole shift: post and shift details, a start-of-shift equipment check, a timed activity log for patrols, visitors and events, an incident summary, and pass-down notes for the next officer.
2. Patrol & Checkpoint Log
A round-by-round log with simple condition codes (OK, issue, not checked), notes on what you found and what you did, and a follow-up box for doors left open, lights out and anything suspicious.
3. Shift Pass-Down Log
Completed together at shift change: equipment and keys handed over, open issues and who to notify, special instructions from the client, and signatures from both officers.
Formats
- Editable Word (.docx): type into it, add your company logo, save your own version. It also opens in Google Docs (File → Open → Upload).
- Print-ready PDF: print a stack and keep it on your clipboard or at the post.
- US Letter, one page per form.
Who it is for
- Security officers who want clean, consistent reports
- Supervisors and site managers setting up a new post
- Small security companies that need a basic form set
- Security students preparing for their first job
How to get the most out of them
- Fill in the activity log as you go, not at the end of the shift. Times and details are easy to remember in the moment and hard to rebuild hours later.
- Use 24-hour time and write facts: what you saw, heard and did. Leave out opinions.
- Never leave a blank. If something was not checked, write N/A and why.
- Keep the pass-down log at the post so the next officer reads it before starting.
- If an incident happens, attach a full incident report. See our incident report template and guide.
